How was your Easter everyone? Did the Easter Bunny bring you lots of chocolate?

On Saturday I left my makeup in the drawer, painted myself in sunscreen – Invisible Zinc is a big favourite of mine for a big expedition like this – and took the kids with my husband for a day out at our favourite getaway, mum and dads weekend farm. Hills to explore, almost nothing as far as the eye can see, wildlife, horses, cows and a bush-bashing car with no roof, no windscreen, no doors, no windows and no tailgate (its ok, you can laugh, we all do lol!)

Getting there was a true adventure in itself, as our Batmobile succumbed to the sweltering heat and, er… overheated. Silly me never even thought to bring water for the car. Whoops. Lesson learned. And, of course we were in the middle of nowhere, off the highway on the secluded road to the farm and out of mobile range. Isnt that always the way?

My husband earns the ninja bravery award for setting off on foot to get help – a 8km trek (Imperial: 4.9 Miles, Pirate: 4.3 knots) – and eventually returned with my Dad with the help of a friendly farm neighbour. Thank goodness for friendly people! We all had a good laugh in the end, what an adventure!

Here is a photo from our roadside shenanigans. I only had my phone with me that day to take pictures, so here are also some of my best and all time favourite pictures taken on the farm on other trips. The place always takes my breath away. It’s truly beautiful! Enjoy.

Home again, home again, jiggety jig…
