Hello beautiful readers! It’s been a while I know, and I’ve missed you all dearly. Things have been busy and I promise to fill you in soon, so I thought I would start with my attempt at a DIY Tangled Wig for my daughter.

The entire wig get-up cost a grand total of $6 for the adult size wig – score – and $2.50 for the flowers – bargain. I was a little stumped at first when I found out I had to come up with a costume idea for my daughters class party. Ok, I confess I was actually a little panicked. But once I found the wig and flowers it all fell into place.

All you need for your own DIY hair:

  • 1 x Adult long blonde straight wig
  • Artificial flowers
  • Hair ties & ribbon
  • A dash of improvisation
And that’s it! 😀

I plaited the wig around the front and down the back, and arranged the flowers and finished off with ribbon in my attempt to make it as close to Tangled as possible. At first I had grand ideas to hand stitch (yeah, really) the individual flowers into the strands, but quickly lost patience and started just shoving them in places they would hold. God bless plastic flowers.

Mummy improvising at its best! Did I mention I am proud as punch at my effort? Cause I am. And needless to say my daughter was over the moon.

Pinch those cheeks!

I can’t tell you how much I love Disney movies. Hey, I still own all my Lion King collector cards.

So let’s bask in Tangled good-ness shall we?…

Thank you! I was really surprised how it turned out in the end, much better than I’d hoped. 🙂

It would actually make a great inexpensive handmade gift for someone!
