Good morning lipstick addicts!
I have a colourful treat for you in the form of swatches. I’m adding to my growing list of Avon lipstick swatches (now 60+ shades!), seeing as it has been so popular.
Once upon a time I was strictly a ‘gloss only’ gal, but following a blissful encounter with a lip stain all that has changed. To me, lipsticks are like shoes, only cheaper. I’ll take one in every colour… gift wrapped…
So let’s get on with the colours shall we? Photos below were taken indoors with direct flash.
When I first laid eyes on the Moisture Seduction promo pics, truthfully I was put off by the ‘swirly’ look of the lipstick. I mistakenly assumed it was mixed with frost (eww). Of course now I realise it is ribbons of moisture, not mountains of hideous shimmer. I was now eager to try and was happy with the result.
I found a few favourite shades amongst this selection, so that gets points from me. I would consider buying each of my favourites (Perfectly Nude-1, Silky Peach-2, Soft Pink-3, Red Kiss-10). The perfectly nude was a definite winner in my book, it matched my medium skin tone… er… perfectly.
They are reasonably priced – if – you can get a good deal. Luckily I have noticed Avon consistently has special makeup deals and prices going throughout the year. If your timing is right you can get a good price.
The wear time is average, not spectacularly great but not bad either. The formula is very creamy, which I liked. If you’re looking for a very matte colour you might want to avoid these as moisture is their M-O.
The range is a mix between pure pigment, sheer and shimmer. The Lilac Shimmer (4) shade was incredibly sheer, and I had to swipe it a bazillion times to get more coverage. Great if you want sheer, avoid if you like bold colour. As for the rest, they are mostly bold pigmented shades, especially Bronze Shimmer (8) and Red Kiss (10).
I think best of all, if your lucky you can find a few samples shades for yourself to try at home if your thinking of committing. Top points always go to brands who are willing to let you try before you buy.
