Regardless of how much makeup we have, there’s always that handful we turn to time and time again. This odd assortment is my never-fail kit, and I always keep it around. If all my other makeup suddenly disappeared off the face of the earth, so long as I have these I will be OK.

1 – Smashbox Photo Finish Primer: This works perfectly for me. I have others for when I like to switch up, but this is my favourite for a more matte look.

2 – Revlon Photoready Powder (shown in 030 Medium/Deep): I don’t typically finish off my foundation with powder, but when I do this is what I reach for. I’m not a huge fan of using powders, as living in the north the weather is unforgiving at the best of times. Hot, horrible and humid.  My true match is the Light/Medium shade.

3 – NARS Orgasm Blush – Ahh, the good old cult favourite. This shade is amazeballs! It works well for my medium skin tone, and I occasionally use it to lightly frame my face – temples, jaw line etc. Only very lightly though! Too much and it looks strange.

4 – Revlon Photoready Concealer in 004 Medium: I’ve always loved the Photoready range, and this is no exception. This works wonders for covering imperfections, but needs a little something to stop creasing under the eyes.

5 – Eyelash Curler: I can’t live without my curler! My lashes are very short, and very straight. My curler fixes those babies right up.

6 – Revlon Age Defying Concealer in Medium: This sat in my bathroom cupboard for a very long time… forgotten and unloved… until one day I’d just had enough of my other concealers and gave it another shot. I find it is fantastic with minimal settling into under eye creases. Makes sense, it does say ‘age defying’ afterall…

7 – Brow Comb: This tiny little comb is constantly getting lost in my makeup bag, but is the perfect shape and size to groom my brows perfectly. It originally came with a ModelCo eyebrow kit, which I dropped, broke the powder, and had to throw away. Sad face.

8 – Maybelline Eyestudio – I like both gel and liquid liners, but at the moment this is working well for me. It gives a beautiful finish that lasts when applied with the right brush.

9 – Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion in Greed (sample size): I rarely wear eyeshadow (too lazy), but I use this daily to keep my foundation/tinted moisturiser & sunscreen from melting into the eyelid crease.

10 – Maybelline Baby Lips: I love these! Even with a full face of makeup, I often just leave my lips bare with a swipe of Baby Lips. It keeps them moisturised and hey, no touchups!

11 – NARS Multiple in Orgasm: This is my quick and lazy way to apply Orgasm, if I can’t be bothered to apply the powder. I also love the effect when you layer both.

12 – Revlon Colorstay Normal/Dry in 320 True Beige: I have a handful of foundations that I switch between, but this is my never fail lasts-all-day-and-night coverage. If I want good coverage or know I have a bazillion things to do and don’t have the time to re-fix, this is my life saver. Heat and humidity is not a problem for this baby.

13 – Maybelline The Falsies Volum Express Waterproof: I LOVE THIS MASCARA. There is no other like it for my short, straight lashes. Nothing compares. I used to buy the original Volum Express, but now use this. I’ve yet to try a mascara that performs miracles for me like this does, and I have tried so many. Oh, so many. It is the one thing I never experiment with. I stick with this mascara through thick and thin.

14 – VO5 Styling Hair Gel: This I use to finish off my makeup… just kidding! (really, don’t do that). I use it to tame my brows into perfect shape. It’s not the smallest, most conveniently sized bottle but it works. I also use different hairsprays for the same trick as well. Just apply to my mini brow brush and style.

Love those eyeliner flicks! Just a quick question – what make are your eyelash curlers? They all look the same, don’t they? x

      Haha! They really do!

I honestly couldn’t say 100% what brand they are, there isn’t even a stamp or label, but I do remember it came in a sealed clear packet which I had to cut open.

I believe it was one of the brands that do all the nail accessories, makeup tools… Possibly Manicare, or QVC (is that even a brand? LOL!)
