Today I began spring cleaning my… uh, everything… and down in the depths of my wardrobe, hidden at the back in a makeup train case I found all my Avon goodies. Seeing as the last time these Smooth Minerals Blushes saw daylight was probably a few years ago I decided to keep them where I would actually use them, and swatch and review them while I’m at it.
Price spotted in the latest catalogue (Aug 2012) AU$9.99
I’ve only ever tried them once. I’ve swatched them on my hands a million times, but sadly, they’ve never had a fair run. It’s a shame really, the colours are beautiful and the consistency of the powder is unbelievably fine.
All of the shades are quite shimmery, except for Blushed (4), which has a barely visible amount of shimmer and looks matte. Despite how they look in the packaging, the colours are sheer and radiant. It’s more about glow, with these blushes.
1 – Sandy Rose
2 – Rose Radiance
3 – Blushing Mauve
4 – Blushed
5 – Golden Glow (my top pick!)

A few gripes:
From memory, the staying power wasn’t great, but if you don’t mind touching up, then hey, it’s all good. And as with just about all mineral products, things can get incredibly messy. All that swirling and tapping is sure to leave something covered in blush (ahem, my CAMERA), but a neat trick is to place tape over most of the holes to limit the amount of product that comes out.
I do like these blushes a lot, mostly for the colours. The price is also acceptable. Staying power could be better though. It’s really tough to say if I would buy these again. The only reason I bought them in the first place was for my Avon selling at the time, I had a huge collection of demo products (still do).
If you love mineral makeup, these are very pretty, very silky and light to wear. It won’t break the bank so I’d say of you curious, definitely give them a try. These are unlike most blushes you will find in a pan.
Have you tried these blushes? What do you think?
