Get well soon Dad...
Get well soon Dad… My rushed drawing on the way to see him.

The greatest thing about being at the bottom, is there’s only one place to go from there…

I wanted to give my deepest heart-felt thank you to all your kind messages and prayers of support. I’m so very touched by every single one of your comments. I really mean that. It’s been tough avoiding the temptation to blog every single moment of the past few days, good and bad, it always helps to just let it out. But, I decided to wait a little while, just let the days unfold and give things time to happen without any expectations.

Monday was without a doubt the longest day of my life. My dearest Dad is now recovering, I won’t say any more or less because I will take every day as they come, but I’m happy to report he awoke from surgery telling of a wonderful dream about cold beer. πŸ™‚

Tough stuff aside, my Dad and I have been able to share some great laughs, and a brain teaser marathon between us and the medical staff. He loves puzzles, and matter of fact, I do too. So it all began with a tricky quiz for my Dad from a doctor, and in turn I left my own riddle for the doctor scratched on paper, which grew into a mini competition between all the doctors to see who got the correct answer and who didn’t. No surprise, they all got it right.

Thank goodness for iPad...

I’ve said it many times over my life and I’ll never stop saying it, my hat goes off to medical professionals who give everything they have to care for others. I’m always so grateful for their kindness. How they do it day in and day out is nothing short of amazing. Don’t you think?

So, before I turn this post into a 1000 page dissertation (which I have a bad habit of doing when I write), I will leave it there and end on a high note. Let me introduce you for the first time to three incredible people in my life: my parents and My Hero, my husband.

Dad & Mum
Dad & Mum 2010 with my daughter
My Husband
My Husband 2012. Fun Fact Of The Day – I’ve had my fair share of hospital visits because of a medical condition (but its nothing to worry about, I swear!), and I consider myself a bit of a frequent flier of the medical world. Or so it feels like, ha ha! And this guy right here is without a doubt the best hospital buddy. Ever. πŸ˜€
Do you know the answer?
Do you know the answer?

I wanted to leave you with my favourite brain teaser. If you get it, you are awesome! The neurologists figured it out right away πŸ˜‰

What’s greater than God?
More evil than the Devil?
The poor have it,
The rich need it,
If you ate it, you would die.

What is it?

PS – THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU AGAIN.

PPS – AND NO CHEATING! πŸ˜€

Hey! Sorry to hear your dad is unwell, I know how it feels. I actually lost my dad last year (cancer) and it really taught me that life is too short…And hospitals are amazing, at first I would really dread them but now I see them as places that help you instead of feeling scared, medicine is so advanced now it’s amazing.
    Lots of love! xx

I’m so sorry about your Dad πŸ™

Life really is very short, people are funny things, it takes something like this for people to realize. And you are so right about hospitals and medicine, I often think wow how lucky are we that we live in a age where we can treat so many things. We’ve still a long way to go, but were still fortunate.

Thanks so much for your comment beautiful!! Xx
