Aloha beautiful readers! I have a super exciting review for you today PLUS your chance to score one of two $1000 new wardrobes! I know right? High five.

The lovelies at Batiste have just launched a new Cherry fragrance dry shampoo, and to celebrate they have teamed up with Market HQ to give you the opportunity to spoil yourself – rotten. More details on how to enter at the end of this review! So now on to the good stuff..

If you haven’t already discovered the joy of dry shampoo – you’re missing out! I remember the first time I ever tried one, I thought ‘how did I ever live without this? You mean to tell me I don’t have to wash and style my hair every night of the week??’. Those of you who follow me, will know my hair battles. Oil and grease is nobody’s hair-friend, and dry shampoo ladies and gentlemen, is time and effort in a can. Hair maintenance is a full-time job for me (one I unfortunately don’t get paid for!), so anything that saves me time is heaven-sent.

Pretty much as the name states – it’s a shampoo for your hair, but only used when dry. It comes in a spray can just as a hairspray would, and you apply it similarly. Some of you may remember way back in the day, sprinkling baby powder onto your hair roots was a popular way to soak up grease and oil. Some of you may also remember the unfortunate effect of white baby powder on dark hair. Yep. It looked ridiculous. Fast forward to the awesome future (now) and we now have the same refreshing effect in an easy spray can, minus the bird-poop-looking hair.

Smell – Cherry (no way!)
Size – 200ml, 6.73 fl.oz, net wt 120g
Application – shake before use, section hair and spray roots with can 30cm’s from head, massage through for 1min, then brush and style.

What more can I say besides I really love the new Cherry dry shampoo. The smell is lovely and the packaging is pretty cute too. The formula remains the same good-ol’ self, great for giving your hair a quick refresh between washes. My current routine happens to go along the lines of: Saturday night wash hair, Sunday super style it, then the style lasts monday to Friday through the work week. Without dry shampoo, my locks are limp and sad, so thankfully Batiste gets me through the entire week without a worry.

A quick tip for anyone wanting to try it for the first time: you only need a little amount, so start small and add more if needed. The down side to dry shampoo is if you are over zealous in your application your hair will turn white. Brushing and massaging into the hair helps blend any visible product. Batiste also has dry shampoo formula specially for your hair tone, blonde/light, red or brunette.

I am using MAC studio fix fluid in NC40, with two shades of the MAC mineralize skin finish natural as the mattifying powder and to contour/bronze 🙂
