This highlighter has proved to be a tough product to review. There are things l like about it, and things I think that make it, meh. Firstly, what I do like: As materialistic as it is to like the product for its packaging, I do think the pen looks lovely. The gold exterior is beautiful and no surprise to see that it’s YSL ‘inspired’. The pen application is also very handy. Down side is the pen is lightweight and easily scratched/dented.
As for the formula itself, it is a nicely subtle highlight. It works well to lightly brighten my under-eye area, and to provide a colour contrast for contouring. It didn’t settle or crease either. I can’t scream about it performing miracles as it really doesn’t do anything out of the ordinary, and for the amount provided (6.0ml for $27.95), I’m not sure whether it is worth it. If there was a significant amount of product I might give it a definite two thumbs up, but because I doesn’t, I reserve my undying love.
I should note when I first trialed it, I twisted the pen base to bring the product to the brush tip for what felt like forever! That was a little worrying, especially considering the small pen size. Overall I would say try each shade for yourself, and if you feel that the colour is a good match and you are comfortable with the price, go for it! If that doesn’t sound up your alley, you can most certainly get the same result from other highlighting/concealing products.
Would I purchase it again? Perhaps if it was more reasonably priced.

And this final image was just for fun. The gold pen looks lovely after all 🙂
